Ron Green

Ron brings to the Fire Group team his extensive experience in Fire Protection and Building Compliance.

He originally hailed from the cooler climes of the UK where he was involved with the Fire Protection and Building Compliance Industry for 8 years. In the late 80’s, he then immigrated to New Zealand and has been involved in the industry ever since.  Ron has held positions in both multinational and large national private companies that have included technical, design and senior management roles.

Since establishing his own business in 2012, Ron has been directly involved in the Passive Fire Protection industry where he has designed Passive systems and completed passive audits for many large corporates within the public and private sectors.   He offers training and has designed and delivered many one- and two-day training sessions to Councils, IQP’s, consultants, clients, builders and Fire engineers.

Achievements / Involvements:

• IQP Status for Fire and Smoke Separations

• NZQA Level 4 Passive Fire Protection

• Chairman of the Association of Building Compliance

• Part of MBIE working group and has also been engaged by MBIE as an expert for determinations under the Building Act

• Author for producer statements: PS1,2,3 & 4 for Passive Fire Protection in Auckland

• Involvement in various Passive groups

Ron is a well-respected man of integrity and is a leading authority within the Fire Protection and Fire Engineering community.

Frank Wiseman

Frank’s expertise and wealth of knowledge has derived from his Industrial and technical background.

He developed his extensive experience through his long, outstanding career in engineering, civil works, chemical manufacturing / operations, industrial coatings and commercial construction.  Since 2005, Frank has specialised in Passive Fire Protection and is widely known as an expert in this field.

Frank’s dedication, passion and focus on passive fire protection have involved him in a wide range of projects throughout NZ and Australia in such areas of design, technical consulting and training. These projects have involved hospitals, telecommunication exchanges, tunnels, LPG and LNG production facilities, Oil and Gas industry, Utility providers, power generation and substations, smelters, refineries, and naval vessels, along with many hotel, apartment and commercial complexes.

Achievements/ involvements:

• Assessor for the NZQA Passive Fire Inspection qualification

Active member for the following organisations: 

• FPANZ, Fire Protection Association NZ, 

• Passive Fire protection special interest groups

• OGST (specialists in Oil and Gas Technologies.)

Nathan Wiseman

Nathan joined the Fire Group as a Passive Fire consultant where his understanding focuses on installation. 

Nathan's background originates from the building industry where he was involved in residential, civil and commercial projects.

In 2011, he began his involvement in Passive Fire including, Quoting, Design and Installation. His work has continued in Project Management of Passive Fire Contracts for large corporate facilities such as hospitals, substations, hydro dams, commercial offices, telecom exchanges, hotels / apartments, and small residential dwellings.

He has been mentored by Ron and Frank who as part of the Fire Group ethos, continue to pass on their wealth of experience and knowledge to him. 

Currently, he is studying Passive Fire - Level 4 (Competenz.)
